Seven Hours in Chicago
It was a whirlwind trip, but so worth it!
We spent the majority of our time in the vicinity of the Millennium Park which of course, meant spending some time at the Cloud Gate AKA "the bean". It's really delightful to watch so many people interacting with a piece of public art.
Had to do some people watching too, especially around the Crown Fountain.
I was particularly fascinated by this installation of ceramic steles by artist Jun Kaneko.
We even were able to take in a jazz concert!
But this was the true purpose of our trip - the chance to see "Impressionism, Fashion, and Modernity".
So off to the Chicago Art Institute - roar!
It was FABULOUS!!!! Our whirlwind trip was totally worthwhile. All I can say is GO!
Photography was not permitted at that show (but a great catalogue was available) but I was able to take shots of some really interesting African beadwork.
It would have been nice to spend a bit more time, but we crammed a whole bunch of fun into our seven hours!
